Compositing supervisor

General description

The incumbent is responsible to do the consolidation and integration of multiple and diverse elements in order to generate sequences of images technically and visually fluid and of superior quality. He must prepare the shots, integrate 3D elements and do the final compositing.

Requirements

• Must have a college degree in 2D and/or 3D graphics or in visual arts;
• Must have one (1) to three (3) years experience in compositing, photo or in a related field;
• Must have a very good knowledge of one of the following software: Nuke, Shake, After Effects, Flame, Flare and Combustion;
• Have a knowledge of following software is an asset: XSI, Maya, 3DEquiqalizer, PFTrack, Deadline and Photoshop;
• Must have a good knowledge of English and French, both spoken and written.

Principal responsibilities

• Be aware of the nature of the project before it begins;
• View montage (set up), references and sequences required in preparation to work;
• Evaluate and inform his superior of technical needs anticipated for the project;
• Create and maintain a logical and clear structure of the compositing script;
• Obtain relative technical information on methods of work used for the project;
• Implement and monitor all technical procedures defined;
• Manage and create effective plans, the layering and compositing rendered;
• Manage and implement the composition of images;
• Organize, manage and maintain 2D files, the related accessories and montage (set ups) obtained;
• Assemble and integrate various elements (3D and live action) images;
• Generate image, sequences technically and visually fluid;
• Create smooth transitions from footage to sequences composed;
• Extract elements from different sources and in various formats;
• Introduce elements into a new environment;
• Make the corrections, additions, deletions and changes required to the image;
• Assemble considering both the mathematics and technical aspect of 3D elements;
• Make the compositng shots assigned;
• Perform all phases of implementation of a compositing according to technical and artistic requirements;
• Develop the composting script;
• Submit to his superiors and evaluation of the work in order to receive an approval;
• Perform rendered images taken and observe the rendering;
• Make images in the designated area (farm or locally);
• Respect the structure and nomenclature established;
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
