General description
The incumbent is responsible for the design, creation and implementation in all continuity of the finished visual images using the latest technologies available. He is also responsible for creating a primary lighting scene and a pre-compositing scene which will set an example to be used as a reference by the departments that will follow.
Requirements
- Must have a college or university degree in visual arts or in 3D;
- Must have three (3) years of experience in a related field (for junior to senior position);
- Must have a very good knowledge of the following software: XSI, Maya, Photoshop, Mental Ray, Deadline and Nuke;
- Must have a good knowledge of English and French, both spoken and written.
Principal responsibilities
- Collect the latest items and accessories (scenery, sky, matte painting, animation, etc..) to develop a scene "Master";
- Shade and publish assets, do the layering and the pre-comp;
- Review and verify all information and references related with the scene to create;
- Replace old shaders with new ones, if that is the case;
- Verify and validate the quality of primary attributes;
- Perform the visual finishing of the image;
- Make all versions in progression available;
- Organize and update files and elements of shading;
- Inform the team leader and supervisor of the work progress;
- Be available for the texture and lighting teams;
- Use the latest technology to perform visual finishing;
- Check the progress of the rendering;
- Publish approved items in full compliance;
- Deliver images;
- Participate in daily meetings;
- Inform artists of the compositing and lighting departments who will take over particularities of the completed shot;
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
