General description

The incumbent is responsible to create, adjust and integrate lighting and environmental elements of a scene from any type of film while maintaining continuity from one image to another.

Requirements

Hold a college certificate or college diploma in visual arts or 3D animation;
Having one (1) to five (3) years experience in the field (for a position junior to senior);
Have an excellent knowledge of the following software: XSI, Mental Ray, Shake, Nuke;
Knowledge of Maya, 3DS MAX and Deadline is an asset;
Good knowledge of English and French, both spoken and written.

Principal responsibilities

Get a list of sequences to illuminate and their peculiarities;
Check that all items are available in the sequence before starting work;
Gather information on the implementation of each scene created by the Master Development Service looks;
Observe the visual references;
View and inspect the installation and information about each stage in Filemaker;
Check the accuracy of the animated scene;
Develop structures for lighting plans, elements and environments;
Organize and maintain the database, files and light images;
Directing a series of lights on the scene;
Respect the coherence and consistency of the lighting from one image to another;
Identify and resolve technical errors of a scene;
Make a sequence of basic equipment to check operation;
Check if the images are rendered in full compliance and without problems;
Make pre-composition items made before the transfer;
Publish lighted images that are rendered;
Participate in daily meetings;
Delete the folders and files moved from the network;
Inform the supervisor of difficulties and irregularities;
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
