Production Manager

General description

The incumbent is responsible for prioritizing, organizing and managing the weekly and daily workload of the production team based on information obtained by both the client and the internal team. He is also responsible for entering information and specifications pertaining to each task in the database. He informs, delegates and coordinates the tasks assigned to each department.

Requirements

  • Must have a college degree in production or post-production;
  • Must have 3 years experience in a related field;
  • Must have good knowledge of Internet and of the following software: Microsoft Office and Filemaker;
  • Knowledge of Final Cut Pro, represents an asset;
  • Must demonstrate expertise in post-production;
  • Must have good knowledge of English and French, both spoken and written.

Principal responsibilities

  • Take notes on the entire project and its special features before it begins;
  • Communicate client requests to the production team;
  • Develop and maintain a daily schedule for assigning tasks to each department and each artist in collaboration with the visual effects & CG supervisors;
  • Record relative information to each sequence of images in the database (Filemaker) and keep the information updated;
  • Plan, make available and inform artists about the tasks assigned to them daily;
  • Provide all necessary information to artists (schedule change, notes, revisions, changes, etc.);
  • Create and maintain a system of traceability (tracking) of the progress of image sequences in production;
  • Check that the task assigned to every artist is performed on schedule;
  • Manage the allocation of hours for each task, in collaboration with the supervisor of each department and project manager;
  • Assign tasks to all employees assigned to the project;
  • Inform the artist of the time at his disposal to carry out the task assigned to him;
  • Inform artists and supervisors of priority changes and progress;
  • Anticipate and inform supervisors of technical problems encountered by the team and organize meeting to discuss possible solutions;
  • Write the priorities for the render wranglers in collaboration with the CG supervisor;
  • Recover all edits and arrangements made by the assistants;
  • Prepare or have prepared all the sequences of images for daily screenings;
  • Organize daily meetings;
  • Note all information from the daily meetings and fill in the Filemaker database;
  • Contact and communicate with the client;
  • Make shipments to the client;
  • Keep all information from the client as well as all approvals;
  • Meet the artists daily;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
